Terms of use

Raad Group, LLC · Effective [effective date to be confirmed]

In short

RAAD is software you run on your own Mac. These terms cover your license to use it, the free trial, buying it, and what each of us is responsible for.

Two things to know up front. After the free trial, the app shows only your three most recent clips until you activate a license. And RAAD is provided as it is: keep your own backups of anything important.

1. The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Raad Group, LLC, a limited liability company organized in [state to be confirmed], with its address at [address to be confirmed] ("Raad", "we", "us"). They cover the RAAD app for Mac and the website at raad.app. By installing or using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use RAAD.

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you use RAAD for a company, you confirm that you can bind that company.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data, and is part of these terms for that purpose.

2. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use RAAD on Macs you own or control, for as long as you are entitled to it, and subject to these terms. The number of Macs you may activate depends on the plan you choose at purchase.

RAAD is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights in it. Some parts of RAAD include third-party open source software, which is licensed under its own terms.

3. The free trial

RAAD includes a 14-day free trial with all features. It starts the first time you open the app, needs no account and no payment card, and never turns into a paid plan by itself. The trial is recorded on your Mac, and reinstalling does not restart it.

When the trial ends without a license, RAAD keeps capturing what you copy but shows only your three most recent clips, and the MCP server stops. Activating a license shows your full history again straight away.

4. Buying RAAD

Paddle is the merchant of record for purchases made on our website. Paddle takes your payment, collects any tax, and sends you the receipt. Its terms and privacy policy apply to your purchase, and we do not see or store your payment details.

  • Personal is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly. It renews until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from the license management page. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Lifetime is a one-time purchase. It includes updates within the major version you bought. A future major version may be sold separately, and we will tell you before that happens.
  • Prices are shown at checkout in your local currency where Paddle supports it, and tax is added where required. We may change prices, but a change will not affect a period you have already paid for.

Refunds: [refund to be confirmed] Paddle also has its own refund terms, and nothing here limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the law where you live.

A license belongs to the person or company that bought it. Do not share your key or sell access to it. If a payment is refunded or reversed, we may deactivate the license that it paid for.

5. Your data and your responsibilities

What you copy stays on your Mac, and we do not receive it. That also means you are responsible for it, and for backing it up. RAAD is not a backup service. It can lose or fail to record items, and it should not be the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

RAAD tries to avoid recording passwords and secrets, but it cannot promise to catch every one. Do not rely on it as a security tool.

If you turn on the MCP server, you decide which AI clients may connect and what they may do, and you are responsible for that choice. A connected client passes what it reads to its own model, which may run on a cloud service operated by someone else. Their terms govern that, not ours, and we are not responsible for what a client or its provider does with clips it reads. Keep write access off unless you want a client to change your history.

You are responsible for having the right to copy, store and use the content you handle with RAAD.

6. What you may not do

Please do not:

  • use RAAD or the website to break the law or someone else's rights;
  • copy, modify, or create derivative works of RAAD, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law allows this despite this clause;
  • get around or interfere with the license check, the free trial, or any other limit, including by resetting the trial, sharing keys, or faking a machine identity;
  • attack, overload or probe our servers, or use scripts or bots against our website or license service, except for normal use of the app;
  • remove copyright or other notices; or
  • use our name, logo or trademarks in a way that suggests we endorse you without our written permission.

7. Updates and changes

RAAD checks for updates through our update service. We may change, add or remove features, and we may release updates to fix bugs or security problems. Some features shown on our website as not yet available, such as sync between devices, team boards or an iOS app, are plans and not promises, and we may change or drop them.

We may also change how the license service works, as long as a license you have paid for keeps doing what you bought it for.

8. Support

Email help@raad.app, or use Send Feedback in the app. We will do our best to reply promptly, but we do not promise a response time.

9. No warranty

RAAD and the website are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promise that RAAD will be uninterrupted, error free, secure, or suited to your purpose, and we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

If you are a consumer, you may have legal rights that cannot be excluded, and nothing in these terms takes them away.

10. Limit on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill, arising from your use of RAAD or the website, even if we were told they were possible.

Our total liability to you for all claims related to RAAD is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places do not allow these limits, and then they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. If you break these terms

If a third party makes a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law when using RAAD, you will cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows. This does not apply to consumers where the law says otherwise.

12. Ending this agreement

You can stop using RAAD at any time by removing it and cancelling any subscription. We may suspend or end your license if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if a payment for it is reversed. If we end it because of a breach, we may not owe you a refund. If we end it for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of what you paid. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as those on ownership, warranty and liability, will continue.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [law to be confirmed], without regard to conflict of law rules. Before starting a formal claim, please write to help@raad.app so we can try to sort it out. If that does not work, the courts in [venue to be confirmed] will have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country.

14. General

  • Changes. We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and, for a significant change, tell you in the app or the release notes. If you keep using RAAD after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you do not, you can stop using RAAD.
  • Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our permission, except that a Lifetime license may be moved to another Mac you own. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
  • Export and sanctions. You may not use RAAD where it is prohibited by law, including under export controls and sanctions.
  • If a term does not work. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • Whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about RAAD, and replace anything earlier about it.
